IHF.OR.ID, DEPOK — The Character School carried out the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) activity for new students, both at the Cimanggis Character School and the Gunung Putri Character School on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. This MPLS was held at all levels of education at the Character School, namely Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School.

MPLS Character Kindergarten

On the first day of MPLS Cimanggis Character Kindergarten, the teachers filled the event with percussion performance. At Gunung Putri Character Kindergarten, the event was filled with movement and songs as well as funny clown performance. Introduction to safe and prohibited areas as well as simulations of students’ arrival and return were also materials in the first day of MPLS activities.

There are 51 new students of Cimanggis Character Kindergarten. There are 47 new students of Gunung Putri Character Kindergarten.

MPLS Character Elementary School

In the 2024/2025 school year, Cimanggis Character Elementary School and Gunung Putri Character Elementary School carry the theme “Constellation” as the class name. The choice of this theme is based on the background that God created the heavens and the earth with all its beauty.

One of the God creations is the beauty of the stars that decorate the sky. There are thousands of stars that when connected will form a special configuration called a constellation.

The first day of MPLS activities at Cimanggis Character Elementary School, Wednesday (17/7/2024). The teachers wore costumes and accessories with constellation nuances.

The first day of MPLS in Cimanggis Character Elementary School and Gunung Putri Character Elementary School was filled with drama activities about the adventure of seeing constellations. The teachers also played a role in the drama. This drama was an introduction to introduce the names of this year’s classes.

There are 72 new students of Cimanggis Character Elementary School. There are 80 new students of Gunung Putri Character Elementary School.

MPLS Character Middle School

MPLS (grade 7) Character Middle School for the 2024/2025 academic year called PERMEN 2024 has the theme “Hello Future? Let’s Grow and Fly Together”. OSIS of Character Middle School became the welcoming committee for these new students. The OSIS seniors welcomed all new students in front of their respective classes, then directed them to the sports field on the 5th floor.

The Principal of Character Middle School, Dika Rahmat Saepulloh, opened the event. After the opening, the event continued with the introduction of all teachers and OSIS administrators. The PERMEN 2024 activities was held for one week.

Character Middle School accepted 89 new students divided into four classes. This year’s class naming carries the theme of flower names, namely Anyelir (Carnation), Alamanda (Allamanda), Amarylis (Amaryllis), and Adenium.

MPLS Character High School

The welcoming period for 23 new students (grade 10) of Character High School for the 2024/2025 academic year was titled “Karakter Bonding (KARBON)”. The committee for the activity was the OSIS of Character High School which had planned this activity since last June. The principal, all teachers, and the new students wore clothes with a certain professional nuance.

The event was centered in 4th floor of the Character High School building. After being introduced to all the teachers, all new students were directed to form groups and receive an explanation of the personal development program (PDP) at Character High School. The KARBON activities lasted for three days.

The implementation of MPLS for new students is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 18 of 2016 concerning Introduction to the School Environment for New Students and is routinely carried out at the beginning of each new school year.

One of the objectives of MPLS is to help new students adapt to the school environment and its surroundings, including in terms of security, public facilities, and school facilities and infrastructure. Other benefits of MPLS can be seen at this link (PDF).
