Semai Benih Bangsa
In order to accelerate and expand the implementation of CBHE model throughout Indonesia, IHF launched the Semai Benih Bangsa (SBB) program in the form of CBHE model. This program is aimed at early childhood education and elementary school (equivalent) teachers in various regions across Indonesia so that people from all walks of life have access to quality education to build the characters included in the CBHE model.
SBB Program Objectives
- Provide access to various levels of society to obtain high-quality education by applying the Character-Based Holistic Education (CBHE) model.
- Ensure the quality of the CBHE education model with high standards by equipping the teachers participating in the program with modules, teaching tools, educational games, character story books, and literature books.
- Implementing the CBHE model after the teachers have completed the SBB program.
- Encouraging the community and non-government institutions (individuals and companies) to play an active role in building the character of Indonesian society by supporting the implementation of the SBB program.
Partnership for SBB Program Implementation
The CBHE model training of the SBB program for early childhood education teachers lasts for 10 days, while the training for primary school teachers (equivalent) lasts for 5 to 8 days. Each early childhood education school that wants to participate in this program sends a minimum of 2 participants, namely the principal and 1 teacher). Meanwhile, each primary school (equivalent) that is interested in participating in this program sends a minimum of 7 participants, namely the principal and 6 teachers.
- organizing costs, including participant accommodation, training rooms, and instructors;
- CBHE Module, Thematic Lesson Plan;
- character books and reference books;
- educational game tools; and
- a collection of character songs.
IHF can accommodate the package according to the donor’s or sponsor’s request, either the whole cost or partial training. In addition, IHF can also provide training materials in collaborative activities with government agencies and other institutions related to the field of education and concerned with the development of national character.
Procedure for Participating in the SBB Program
The CBHE model training of the SBB program for early childhood education teachers lasts for 10 days, while the training for primary school teachers (equivalent) lasts for 5 to 8 days. Schools interested in participating in the SBB program can register at ihf.or.id/proposalsbb. Furthermore, IHF will conduct evaluation and selection of participation, then will further inform the results and schedule of the program implementation.
Ikatan Guru Semai Benih Bangsa (IGSBB)/SBB Teachers’ Association
On Friday, May 24, 2019, the Ikatan Guru Semai Benih Bangsa or IGSBB (SBB teachers’ association) was established as a forum for alumni of CBHE programs and training who have the same goal in building a nation with character, intelligence, and creativity. IGSBB aims to improve the quality of SBB teachers and schools that have spread in various regions in Indonesia in implementing the CBHE model. In addition to these general objectives, the presence of IGSBB is expected to maintain the commitment of SBB teachers and stakeholders to consistently apply, introduce, and disseminate the CBHE model to the community.
The IGSBB management consists of the Central Board, Regional Board at the provincial and district/city levels, and Representative Board abroad. Until now, IGSBB has 74 Regional Boards in various districts and cities in Indonesia. In addition, IGSBB has CBHE and Parenting Ambassadors and CBHE Implementation Consultants.
