IHF Partners with Minamas Plantation to Deploy Humanitarian Volunteers to Aceh Tamiang

IHF.OR.ID, DEPOK – The Indonesia Heritage Foundation (IHF), in collaboration with Minamas Plantation (PT Padang Palma Permai), dispatched a team of humanitarian volunteers to Aceh Tamiang, Aceh. This humanitarian effort lasted five days, from December 28, 2025, to January 2, 2026.

The mission focused on providing relief to residents hit by floods and landslides in the region. The initiative was made possible through the full support and donations gathered from IHF’s internal network and the parents of its students.

Six volunteers, consisting of five teachers and one university student, were sent directly to the disaster zones to distribute aid and provide psychological support. The team included teachers Ahmad Ramadhan, Singgih Triono, Khairil Ganjar, Muhammad Lutfie, and Kholilurrohim, as well as student volunteer Henanda Nur Rizki.

Focusing on Child Trauma Recovery

A central part of the mission was a trauma-healing program designed for children, who are often the most psychologically vulnerable group following a disaster. Under the theme “Strong Kids, Great Kids: Together We Restore the Nation’s Hope”, volunteers organized activities to entertain and support young survivors, fostering optimism during the difficult recovery period.

“The children there remain eager to learn. During the trauma healing activities, they were very happy with the presence of a ‘new family’ who brought joy to them,” said one of the volunteers, Singgih Triono.

The volunteer team assisted children across all educational levels, from kindergarten to high school. “From kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, and even some high schoolers. The high school students were initially a bit shy or reserved, but we still involved them as mentors to help teach, assist their younger siblings with creative projects or help manage the sessions,” he added.
